Overview
Thomson Habitats undertakes all ecological contracting
projects. We design, create, and restore habitats for
wildlife. This includes creating hibernacula for reptiles,
ponds for great crested newts, replanting trees and
hedgerows, developing wetland areas following civil
engineering work and dealing with invasive plants such
as Japanese knotweed and giant hogweed. Our specialists
have the necessary licences for a range of activities, such as spraying and chainsaw operation.
The health, safety and welfare of staff and others is of paramount importance. Our staff undertake site specific health and safety risk assessments before work commences. Regular members of staff are CSCS qualified, and many have first aid certificates. Any staff member using machinery is qualified to use it safely. A site file will always be present on site with health and safety documents and details of emergency procedures. All members of staff are fully equipped with safety clothing including hard hat, safety boots, glasses, gloves, overalls and hi-vis.
We have a sound knowledge of the CDM regulations and have worked to these regulations as main contractor and sub contractor.
