About Thomson Habitats
About Thomson Habitats
Our background
Thomson Habitats was formed as an offshoot of our sister company Thomson Ecology. Whereas Thomson Ecology focuses on ecological surveys and consultancy, Thomson Habitats carries out the practical side of wildlife mitigation projects, including habitat creation and restoration, and environmental mitigation work.
Along with our sister companies Thomson Ecology and Thomson Unicomarine, who specialize in marine ecology, we offer a total solution to ecological issues, by means of environmental management on brownfield, greenfield and marine sites.
Our clients include major developers, engineers and ecology consultancies, utilities companies, planners, landscape architects and local and national government.
Our aim
Our aim is to provide practical solutions to compensate for loss of habitat caused by development and buildings works, and our link to Thomson Ecology means that we have expertise and knowledge in the areas of legislation and environmental policies.
We aim to maintain a reputation for efficient and sensitive project management, and to deliver projects on time, within budget and to the brief.
Our values
scientific integrity
professional standards of service
respect for clients’ values and a
supportive work environment.
What our values mean in practice is that we only work to the highest technical standard appropriate to the situation. We use the best equipment, and keep up a continuous training programme to deliver our skills.
We hold both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accreditations, the Committed to CSCS Platinum Award, CHAS and SMAS.
We make our expertise available to help our clients achieve their aims within the law, and maintain good and frequent communication.
We are known as a company which delivers good quality work in line with our clients' objectives.
In all our habitat creation and environmental contracting projects, we strive continuously to improve our standards, satisfy our clients, and to help the environment.
